Annual Show 2017

 

We were pleased to welcome Mrs Lily Flood to present the awards this year.  Lily has supported the Association for many years together with her late husband Peter who was our long serving Chairman, the shedman at Athelstan Road site and also a talented musician.  the cup for best gladioli is dedicated to his memory and this year was won by Anni Pearce.

Annual Show 2016

Congratulations to our winners of this years show.  We were pleased to have some new people competing and winning!

Overall Champion with most points across the entire show was Tracy Mabey

2014

Annual Show 9 August 2014

Despite another tricky growing season - this time too hot and dry for some things to flourish we were pleased to see plenty of exhibits on the tables

 

Congratulations to Ann Southwell who is this year's Champion pictured here receiving one of her many trophies from Bob Blandford who presented the awards this year.

Tracy Mabey also had a very successful show and won several awards

Not to be left out - I was pleased to win The Turner Cup for the best Member's aCollection of vegetables

EVENTS 2013

Annual Show 10 August 2013

Despite another very tricky growing season we were pleased to see the tables full of entries againThank you all for making the effort once again.

Our thanks also to Tony Pearce who presented the prizes and acted as Master of Ceremonies at such short notice

 

Congratulations to Tracy Mabey who was our Show Champion for the fourth consecutive year, pictured receiving The Ladies Cup from Tony Pearce.

Ann Southwell who is a new exhibitor won several awards which were collected by her son as she had a prior engagement at Buckingham Palace (yes seriously!)

Toni Knight won the Marley Shield for best container plants for the second year running - well done!

New competitor Chloe March receiving The Alderman Kitty Cawte Shield for the highest points in the Chilren's Scetion and also won the Brenda Allen Trophy for the best child's exhibit.  Well done Chloe!

The Ground Shield - our largest and oldest trophy is an inter allotment site competition won this year (as often) by Sydney House Allotment site in Bitterene.  Rosemarie Smithers accepts the award from Tony on their behalf.

 

 

EVENTS 2012 

ANNUAL SHOW 11 AUGUST 2012

Despite a dreadful growing season we were pleased to see so many exhibits tabled and thank those of you who supported the event.

Congratulations to Tracy Mabey who once again was crowned as Champion.

Prizes were awarded by Bert Madock our Senior Life Member who many of you will know as shedman at Witts Hill and long time supporter of the Association

We were particularly pleased to see some new competitors winning prizes

A more regular competitor is William Ward - this year winning both the Brenda Allen Trophy for best child's exhibit and the Alderman Kitty Cawte Shield for highest points in the children's classes
